Doctoral Intern

Marcella is enrolled in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Miami. She is a doctoral intern at the Counseling Center, where she completed a clinical practicum during the 2020-2021 academic year. Her training is in cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based treatments, and her clinical interests include identity development and interpersonal relationships. Marcella appreciates working with a diverse group of clients, and on a range of concerns. She is also fluent in German.

Kelly Terry

Doctoral Intern

Kelly is a doctoral intern at UM’s Counseling Center and is currently working towards her Clinical Psychology doctorate degree at the University of Denver. She completed her BA in Psychology from American University and her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. Prior to her professional trajectory in psychology, Kelly worked in international relations, a path that took her all over the world. She integrates these experiences into her current work by appreciating each individual’s unique context and the way their constellation of life experiences has contributed to their current situation. Kelly has experience working in community mental health clinics, college counseling centers, and inpatient treatment centers providing individual, couples, and family therapy. Kelly values a collaborative, direct, and warm approach to therapy, prioritizing curiosity and co-creating a space where the client can be their authentic selves while working through whatever they may be struggling with. Kelly appreciates working with issues surrounding identity or family of origin concerns, trauma, anxiety and depression, and issues in relationships.

Jacqueline Yi

Jaki is a doctoral intern at the University of Miami Counseling Center and is in her final year of the Clinical-Community Psychology PhD program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is originally from New York and received her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology at New York University. In her clinical work, she utilizes an integrative approach to best fit the needs of each student and draws from therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Multicultural-Feminist Frameworks, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. She is also passionate about working with diverse students from an anti-racist, social justice orientation, and she has a strong professional interest in Asian American psychology. Her other clinical areas of interest include anxiety treatments, identity development, career and academic concerns, and campus outreach and prevention efforts.
